Joshua Tree Gay Pride to be held in California June 27, 2009

A gay pride event will be held for the first time in an a remote area of the California desert.

The event is billed by organizers as “a fun night of celebrating our community and our families,” according to a press release.

Despite the remote location the group is planning live music, dancing, and refreshments. People are invited to bring food or beverages to share at the event, which is free event.

The event will also include “Hope Will Never Be Silent,” featuring the art of Sydney McCutcheon, Chris Carraher, Ted Quinn, and Perry Hoffman.

The pride event will be held at Studio Godot (in the Art Queen complex), 61855 Highway 62, Joshua Tree, California.
