Robert Scott Jones Jr.
Robert Jones Jr., died June 11, 2009 following a short illness. Born to Criss (nee Emma Topping) and Robert Sr., who lived in Rockville Center.
A Navy veteran of WWII, Bob attended programs at Duke University and Berea College. Settling in New York City after the war, Bob began modeling for the Harkrider Modeling Agency. He moved to Hampton Bays in the 1970s, establishing the antique and collectible business “Ada’s Attic” with George Tetzel, a partner.
A 35 year venture! The Town of Southampton has since acquired this site, restoring the building as the historic landmark “King House”.
Robert is survived by George Tetzel; sister Doris and brother-in-law William; nephews William, Robert, Thomas and niece Mary Criss.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, at O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27 at St. Rosalie’s Church, Hampton Bays, at 10:30am.
