George Jacob, Jr., 67, passed away on June 20, 2009. Born October 18, 1941, he was the son of the late George Jacob Balchun and Betty Niven Balchun, Shickshinny, PA.

George attended Wilkes College and New York University and was employed for 27 years at NBC, where he was in business management with NBC Sports. He is survived by his brother Barry D. Balchun of Los Angeles, CA and companion of 47 years Peter F. Hanes of Westbrook, CT.

He was predeceased by his brother Kerry B. Balchun of East Hampton, NY.

Burial service and interment at 3pm on Saturday, July 25th at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that contributions be made to St. Bartholomew’s Church, 325 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10022
